Hack Rare: Engaging the Next Generation of Rare Disease Innovators
We are honored to have HackRare featured by NORD® in their article, "Hack Rare: Engaging the Next Generation of Rare Disease Innovators." The piece highlights how hackathons can empower students from diverse disciplines to develop creative solutions to challenges facing the rare disease community and shares the experience of a winning team from HackRare 2024 (previously Harvard Rare Disease Hackathon).
One of the core goals of HackRare is to create opportunities for students to collaborate across fields, learn directly from patients and advocates, and apply their skills to real-world rare disease challenges. The featured team exemplifies this mission through their innovative project addressing the needs of individuals living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, combining engineering, artificial intelligence, and biomedical science to tackle an unmet clinical need.
We are grateful to NORD for their continued partnership and support of HackRare's mission to inspire and empower the next generation of rare disease innovators.
